The driving vision of Milieu Intérieur
The Milieu Intérieur project takes an unprecedented look at the human immune system - an intricate signaling network that protects us against disease. The inherent complexity in the immune system translates into high variability from one individual to another. Consequently, our susceptibility to infections, disease severity, and response to medical therapies and vaccines are a reflection of our individuality. Because the human immune system has such a broad scope of reactions, it is difficult to predict individual responses to infection and medical therapies such as vaccines.
The Milieu Intérieur project provides insight into the core of human diversity by dissecting the interplay between genetics and environment and their impact on the immune system.
